“Youth Employment in Kosova” – KFOS/SOROS – August 2004 – January 2005 The aim of the project is to contribute to the bridging of supply and demand of labour by providing a web-based (partial) labour market information system.

“Mapping out the situation of Secondary School – Student Councils in Kosova” – UNICEF May – June 2004. General information about the existence or non-existence of the secondary school Student structures in all 30 Municipalities in Kosova. The purpose of the survey was to find out what is the perception about Student Councils, the range of problems students are facing and their concrete ideas on how to address these concerns through Student Councils.

“Making a safer place for a better life” – October 2003 – March 2004. –UNICEF the aim of the project was to increase awareness among young people in Kosovo about the risks of small arms light weapons and initiate the long process of education on a non gun culture among them, which will lead to non-violent approaches to conflict management and resolution in the area.

“Biennale of Yong Artists from Europe and Mediterranean” – June 2003 Athens. Kosovar Youth Council is officially a member of the Association that organizes the Biennale. We select best artists from Kosova and work together with them to develop their projects. Ministry of Youth of Kosova funded first representation.

“Municipal Youth Manifesto” June – December 2002 – Preparation of a meaningful youth program to be presented to all MP in Municipal Assemble as the way of influencing them in approving some of the recommendations listed in that Manifesto. Funded by FDI/ KNAP program under USAID.

“Crossing Bridges Festival” – August 2001 and 2002. A traditional open air Festival with artists form Balkan, Europe and the rest of the World. It promotes multiethnic cooperation and tolerance among nations. Co organized with Cooper Family and Ministry of Youth. Funded by different donors and the local business.

“KEDP” – Kosovar Youth Council is the Kosovo wide youth partner for implementation of the KEDP program. We participate in many seminars and other decision-making processes in this program.

“Drug Awareness Campaign” – July- September 2001. A three months Campaign in the Region to raise awareness from the risk of the drug use. Campaign included sport events, cultural activities, radio talk show and the documentary film, which was also presented Internationally. Funded by USAID/ IOM/ KTI

“Strengthening Youth Advocacy in Kosova – for Good” – June – December 2001 – Program for establishing 10 youth advocacy groups in the Region (including working together with Serbs, Bosniacs and Egyptians), which will influence government in designing public policies that are proposed by communities. Funded by Save the Children US under KAP program.

“Anti hate Graffiti, Poster and Pamphlet Campaigns”-October 2000, Youth Week. Projects designed to clean hate graffiti and replace them with tolerance messages; promote tolerance through awareness-raising using posters; and raise awareness about drugs, HIV/AIDS and trafficking among youth for prevention. We worked in Prishtina, Gjakova, and Peja municipalities. Funded by UNMIK DEPARTMENT OF YOUTH

“Promoting Kosovar Adolescent/Youth Protection and Capacities”- May-June 2000. An adolescent-led survey conducted jointly with the Women’s Commission to identify adolescent/youth needs and solutions to their concerns in Kosova. This project motivated and developed a new strategy for KYC itself to become an organized advocacy group for young people. The report of this survey was a background document in the conference in Winnipeg. Funded by the WOMEN’S COMMISSION, AMERICAN JEWISH WORLD SERVICE and IRC

“Student Councils” – January-October 2000, a project for establishing a structured organization for secondary school students in the Region based on US college models. In addition to electing representatives for each class, students also elected a “chairmanship” for each school. These representatives also participate in a city-wide “chairmanship,” where students from each school meet together to discuss issues and have a path for raising issues with city officials. Student Councils are fully operative and functional after 10 months of support given by KYC. Funded by CORDAID

“Effimero of the New Millennium”- December 2000, a one-week open air festival for the Millennium celebrations. The festival was used for the promotion of tolerance, human rights and gender equality. It has become an annual event in Gjakova since then. Funded by CORDAID, SAVE the CHILDREN, IRC.

“Run for Fun” – October 1999, fundraise marathon in Prishtina, designed to generate funds for the development of the KYC structure and office supplies. Funded by IRC

“Gjakova 2000” – August 1999. An activity that involved thousands of volunteers from the community in cleaning up the historical/old part of the town destroyed during the war. The process of cleaning up this historical part of the town was followed by various cultural/artistic activities such as: art workshop and exhibition, live concert, photo workshop etc. This event organized more than 2000 young people.
