Shaping the future of VET schools

VET schools and it’s pupils are often overlooked and forgotten. However, the SCK and KYC’s willingness to improve their challenges focused on the activity that started with the implementation of the project “Shaping the Future of VET Schools” in Peja. Studnets took part in round-table discussions which had the main goal of identifying and learning to face challenges and problems we see and deal with in a daily-basis in our school environment. Taking note of these issues which were deemed highly relevant, KYC involved us in a two-part research as key respondents.

Around 211 students responded to a survey, with the purpose of reflecting the actual state and implementation of the learning practices in our schools. There were a total of 3 focus groups organized, where students had the chance to give detailed explanations of our school routine. Besides this, we organized another two focus groups with our teachers and graduated students.

Research showed that apart from lacking practical experience on our school subjects, we also had no relevant information on how to approach the labor market after school is over. To facilitate this, KYC held four workshops with around 132 students, where we primarily learned about soft skills – how to recognize our strengths when applying for potential jobs and presenting ourselves to potential employers. As KYC was art of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, two of these workshops main topics were the values and importance of entrepreneurship.

Shkollat profesionale me nxënësit e tyre shpesh janë të anashkaluara dhe të harruara. Mirëpo, KNK dhe KYC vullnetin për përmirësim e sfidave të tyre e orientuan në aktivitet që filloi me implementimin e projektit “Shaping the future of VET schools” në Pejë. Nxënësit kanë qenë pjesëmarrës në tryezat e rrumbullakëta të cilat kishin për qëllim evidentimin e sfidave dhe problematikave të cilat i hasim ne dhe këto dy shkolla. Çështjet të cilat u ngritën gjatë tryezave, u panë si tejet të arsyeshme të elaborohen më shumë, prandaj KYC na përfshiu edhe si respodentë në hulumtimin i cili u zhvillua në dy pjesë.

Rreth 211 nxënës plotësuan anketën e cila synonte të pasqyroj gjendjen aktuale të praktikës profesionale dhe qenë pjesë e 3 fokus grupeve, ku nxënësit patën mundësi të tregojnë më detaisht për rutinën shkollore. Përpos kësaj, u organizuan edhe 2 fokus grupe me mësimdhënësit tanë dhe ish të diplomuarit.

Nga të gjeturat e hulumtimit, doli e rëndësishme se përpos mungesës së punës praktike, ne nxënësit kemi mungesë informimi se si duhet t’i qasemi tregut të punës. Si rezultat, KYC mbajti 4 punëtori me rreth 132 nxënës me qëllim aftësimin tonë rreth aftësive të buta.

Duke marrë parasysh se KYC ishte pjesë e Javës Globale të ndërmarrësisë, dy nga punëtoritë janë shfrytëzuar për të na vetëdijësuar rreth rëndësisë dhe vlerës së ndërmarrësisë.
